As the client, you are responsible for:

Prior to the start of your website project, you will need to have your branding ready so that we can seamlessly integrate it throughout your site. At the minimum, you will need a logo, brand colors and fonts. You are also responsible for providing licensed font files, unless you prefer to only use fonts that are free for commercial use built into Squarespace. I would be happy to recommend a lovely graphic designer if you aren’t already working with one.

A high quality website is built by using high quality images. If you plan to sell products, I highly recommend hiring a professional photographer. Because I feel so strongly that every business owner should have professional photos, I will help you find a reputable brand photographer in your area and get you booked before our web design project launches.
If you plan to use general stock imagery, I can provide you with resources so that you can choose and provide the photos you’d like to use. You will be responsible for any costs incurred with purchasing licensed photos.

The copy are the words you want written on your site. This includes catchy headlines, details about your business, biography details, product descriptions, details of services, etc. You will also want to provide long-tail keywords for your industry that we can sprinkle throughout the site to boost SEO. If writing isn’t your zone of genius, I am happy to collaborate or recommend a professional copy writer to hire.

When you start your own business and have a website where you collect data from your visitors, e.g. an email address, then you need a Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions Policy. Once you have these policies written, I am happy to add them to your website. While I am not a lawyer and cannot offer any legal advice, I would be glad to recommend a service where you can purchase policy templates online and modify for your own business.

Design fees do not include the cost to host your website or purchase your domain. Squarespace plans start around $23/month. By working with me, I can get you 20% your first annual payment through my Squarespace Circle Membership. You may purchase your domain through Squarespace or any other domain provider such as GoDaddy. Squarespace Business plans and higher do come with a free domain for one year. If you purchase through a 3rd party provider, we can point your domain to your Squarespace website at no additional charge.
THE CRYSTAL CLEAR PROCESS
As a small business owner, I know you have a lot on your plate to get your business rolling, and your website is just one facet to that overall effort. I strive to make my partnerships and processes as easy as possible!
Once we agree to partner, I will create a Scope of Work (SOW) outlining the deliverables and associated costs. To begin the project, I will require signature on the SOW and a 50% non-refundable deposit of the total project investment.

STRATEGY & CONTENT CREATION
After we book your project, I will send through a questionnaire and set up a Google Drive folder for your project. As mentioned above, you’ll be responsible for providing content and imagery. The easy to follow questionnaire will help guide you through this process and Google Drive will be a place for us to share all these important pieces.
We will then schedule a one hour strategy call to align on your vision. We will talk through aesthetics, function, and map out your website pages.

WEBSITE BUILD & COLLABORATION
Here’s where I start to work my magic. I’ll take all the content and images provided and start building out your custom website.
Once I have the first draft complete, we’ll set up another call. You will provide feedback about how the website is looking, and any edits you would like me to make. We will go through these feedback loops several times to perfect the design.

LAUNCH & TRAINING SESSION
After your heart is beaming with excitement on your new site, we’ll prepare for launch. At this time I will collect the remaining 50% payment for your project. Then, we will get you logged into Squarespace with a new account, connect your domain and pay for your hosting plan.
We will also have a one hour training session to ensure you’re confident with how your site is built and how you can manage it moving forward.

NEW FRIENDS & CELEBRATION
Boom! You will now be open for business! And depending on your package, I offer one or two week post-launch support. I will be available by email or call to answer any questions or to make minor edits to things that may need to be tweaked.

Often, when clients seek website updates, we find that a full redesign is necessary to ensure all technical aspects, such as accessibility requirements, are met and that the entire website remains cohesive. Every request is unique, so please reach out, and we'll discuss the best approach for your project.

I book clients by the month, and only offer a few spots in my design calendar per month. I typically book a client at least one month in advance to allow time for content creation and gathering.

Given we have all information needed at the start of the project, a typical website project takes 4 to 6 weeks.
